Enrichment Opportunities
The Dearborn Academy offers many opportunities for students to maximize their educational experience. Opportunities may vary from year to year but include:
Our sports teams are currently for 7th and 8th grade students. Soccer, basketball, cross country and flag football are available. Students may also choose to participate in Student Council, Safety Patrol, Junior High Play, Winter-festival, and Annual Talent Show.
Homework Lab is a free program and an opportunity for students in grades 5th- 8th to receive help in the areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics by our certified teachers four days a week. This program is a combination of tutoring and homework help to make sure that our students are progressing in these important core subject areas.
Class Environment
Our students have the opportunity to work in a small group environment while receiving intensive support in specific core subject areas. The classrooms are staffed with certified teachers and paraprofessionals. Our teachers use different teaching strategies and techniques to meet each child's unique learning needs and provide support and structure for academics and socialization. Students have the benefit of receiving support where needed while still, for the majority of the time, participating in the mainstream classroom.
